Confusion about wordpress.com and wordpress.org

What did I come to know?

I started my blogging journey in June 2019. In the beginning, there was great confusion. It is not that I learned everything quickly. I tested both blogger and wordpress.com. After experiencing everything, I decided to stick to blogger till I have enough money to buy domain and hosting. 

Blogger is quite easy for beginners. Wordpress.com and wordpress.org are two different things. The former is same as blogger to some extent. You can start a free blog from blogger or wordpress.com. The latter is somewhat complicated than blogger so far as your earnings are concerned. I realized that wordpress.org is the actual platform where you can create self-hosted blogs or websites. 

By self hosted, I mean you own your content. You are in full control of your blog or website. 

I moved from blogger to WordPress in 2021

I can't say that I have wasted almost 2 years in Blogger because towards the later part of 2019, there was CAA protests in my state. With frequent internet cuts, the situation was not favourable to do any type of work. Again from March 2020, lockdown started and the rest is known to you. So, I can say working part-time I shifted to WordPress from blogger after a few months. 

So, my suggestion is to create your website in wordpress.org. It is available in almost all the hosting plans. But in the beginning, if you don't have money to buy domain and hosting, then keep writing in blogger. Later on when you have the money you can easily migrate and redirect the
